Christopher McDonald
|
Chief Executive Officer

Christopher McDonald joined Lamprell as Chief Executive Officer and as a Director in October 2016. Mr McDonald has over 24 years' experience in the oil and gas EPC and oilfield services sectors having worked and lived in the USA, Asia, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. Prior to his appointment, Christopher held the position of Executive Vice-President and Group Head of Business Development with Petrofac based in the UAE where he had overall accountability for global sales for the company.

From 2007 to 2010, Mr. McDonald co-founded and helped to run a boutique private equity firm in London. Prior to that he spent 18 years with Halliburton/KBR starting his career with five years in Engineering before progressing through the Sales function to become Commercial Vice President (Singapore/Australia) from 1996 to 2000. He then spent seven years in London where he became Vice President and Officer with responsibility for the KBR Development Company and the KBR/JGC gas alliance during which time he served on the Board of MW Kellogg Ltd.

Christopher has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University..

Tony Wright

Chief Financial Officer

Tony Wright joined Lamprell in January 2013 as Vice-President, Finance and in November 2014 Tony stepped into the role of Deputy CFO, followed by a promotion to Chief Financial Officer in August 2015. Tony is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant with over 15 years’ experience working in the Oil and Gas and Construction industries. Since 2010 Tony has been working with the Leighton Holdings Group in Malaysia and the UAE, most recently with the Habtoor Leighton Group (HLG). Prior to joining Leighton, he spent 5 years as Group CFO with Dubai based oilfield EPC firm Global Process Systems (GPS). When in the UK, Tony held senior finance positions with Input/Output Inc and the Expro Group.

Hani El Kurd
|
Vice President - Operations

Hani El Kurd joined Lamprell in December 2011 (after the acquisition of Maritime Industrial Services) as General Manager of the Land Rig Services business. His role was expanded to include Offshore Rig Refurbishment & Land Rig Services in January 2016, followed by a promotion to Vice President of Operations in January 2017. This role has responsibility for the Group’s operations, projects and asset management functions. Mr El Kurd has 15 years of diversified experience in the oil and gas industry’s oilfield services, projects, proposals, and operations management in multiple countries in the Middle East. He started his career working on offshore and onshore rigs in field engineering roles related to coiled tubing and wellhead installations. Prior to joining Lamprell, Hani managed Rig Metals, an engineering and fabrication company focused on rig structural and piping upgrades (as part of the MIS group).

Hani has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology and is working towards a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Manchester Business School in 2017.

Peter Ireton

Vice President - Business Development

Peter Ireton has recently joined Lamprell as Vice President Business Development responsible for Sales, Proposals, Marketing and Strategy. Peter graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Bradford University in the UK and has over 30 years’ experience in the Energy Industry. After spending the first part of his career in various Process Engineering assignments in the Oil & Gas industry, Peter moved into Proposals and Business Development roles and over the last 20 years has led those activities for a number of International EPC contractors. He has lived and worked in most of the major Energy centers, including Houston, Aberdeen, Moscow and currently the UAE, and has worked to develop new opportunities with many of the leading IOC and NOC clients around the world.

Shumon Zaman
|
Vice President - IST & Business Optimisation

Shumon Zaman joined Lamprell in February 2013 as ERP Project Director, he is a Fellow of the British Computer Society with over 20 years’ experience in the technology sector covering multiple industries and global organisations, having held executive roles in the UK and the Middle East region before joining Lamprell.

He started his career with a FTSE 100 company in the UK and was instrumental in undertaking major business and technology transformation projects across Europe, North America, South America and the Asia Pacific region. In 2002, he moved to the UAE and was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and CEO (Oracle Practice) for a major conglomerate in the region.

In 2014 Shumon was promoted to Vice President of Information Systems and Technology, and in 2017 he was assigned the Business Optimisation role which includes Lamprell’s Six Sigma program.

Sabih Laham
|
Vice President - Engineering

Sabih Laham joined Lamprell in May 2012 as Vice President Engineering. Sabih has over 33 years of sound technical, project execution and management experience of EPCI projects executed in the UK, Holland, France, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, India, the Caspian Sea area and the Far East. Prior to joining Lamprell, Sabih worked for McDermott International, Petrofac and NPCC in the UAE. Prior to that, he was employed by British Energy, ABS Consulting and McDermott in the UK. He has completed many major EPIC projects for leading engineering consultants and EPIC companies specialised in the offshore energy, defence and nuclear sectors.

Sabih is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and has a BSc (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering, an MSc in Structural Engineering, and a PhD in Fracture Mechanics applications relating to offshore platforms from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST).

Iain Walker

Vice President - HSESQ

Iain Walker started his HSES career in 1989 working offshore on the Brent Field, North Sea, UK. His experience spans across oil and gas from Drilling and Jack up rig operations, Fixed Production and drilling platforms, Onshore oil and chemical refineries, FPSO/FSO conversations and operation, module fabrication, subsea tie-in, hook up and commissioning through to operation.

16 years of his career were spent in both construction project and production operational roles internationally which were primarily offshore based with various onshore assignments before progressing into Management positions on high value Greenfield and Brownfield offshore construction contracts.

Iain has held a number of Senior Regional HSESQ leadership roles at both Director and Vice President level. His responsibilities have extended to International Jack up drilling operations in Thailand, Indonesia and the Persian Gulf and, in Engineering and Construction, HSES leadership for Asia Pacific, Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa and India (circa 40 countries). Iain has served on Regional Senior Leadership teams as well as Global HSES leadership Teams determining strategic direction. Iain holds a PGC in Risk and Safety Management from Strathclyde University.

Ian Wilkinson

Vice President - Commercial & Risk

Ian Wilkinson joined Lamprell as Vice President of Commercial & Risk Management in December 2016.

Ian has over 33 years of experience in the EPC Industry and Claims/Consulting businesses where he has held Senior Project Controls positions both in corporate roles and on projects. In addition he has performed roles in Project Management, Business Development, Contracts, Construction Systems Turnover Coordination and Warranty Management. The majority of Ian’s career has been spent working for major, international EPC companies such as Bechtel, CB&I and Costain.

Ian has worked through office and field based assignments in Europe, GCC, Iraq, Egypt, Angola, South Africa, Sakhalin, Australia, North/South America, Canada and the Seychelles. His broad industry experience covers major EPC projects in the Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Power/Renewables, Mining & Metals and Water sectors.

In 2012 Ian completed a Project Management role delivering a strategic Wind Farm Project in the Seychelles for Masdar and the Government of Abu Dhabi. He later went on to work for Shell as Project Services Lead on the strategic Majnoon FCP Gas Project where he also supported various high level Iraq Ministerial/Authority engagements.

Ian graduated from Boston College in the UK with a Business Studies Diploma.

Lawrence Himsworth

Vice President - Procurement & Supply Chain

Lawrence Himsworth joined Lamprell in October 2015 as Group Manager, Procurement & Supply Chain and was promoted to Vice President, Procurement & Supply Chain in January 2017.

Lawrence has 20 years Procurement & Supply Chain experience in the Oil & Gas and Construction industries. Prior to joining Lamprell, Lawrence worked 6 years for McDermott in the Middle East. 

Earlier in his career, Lawrence held senior manager positions for BP focusing on projects based in Azerbaijan and global projects for Kellogg Brown & Root.

John Macdonald

Vice President - HR & Administration

John Macdonald joined Lamprell in April 2012 as Vice-President, HR and Administration. For the past 20 years, John has held various HR management and specialist positions in the oil & gas, E&C and utilities sectors. He has spent 12 years in the Middle East and 2 years in USA where he held senior HR roles with CB&I, a global oil & gas EPC contractor, Weatherford and Saudi Aramco. Prior to relocating to Dubai in 1998, John had almost 20 years with United Utilities plc in UK where he progressed to become HR Director for their international businesses. John has an MSc in Management from the University of Salford and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Alex Ridout

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Alex Ridout joined Lamprell as General Counsel and Company Secretary on 4 November 2012.

Alex is a UK-qualified solicitor and, until October 2012, was employed as the company secretary and general counsel for Dragon Oil plc (an independent exploration and production company with a premium listing on the London Stock Exchange and a primary listing on the Irish Stock Exchange and a market cap of over US$4 billion). He held this role since April 2006.

After completing his training contract in the London office of Boodle Hatfield, Alex moved to the commercial department of Arnander Irvine Zeitman and worked on a mixture of commercial contracts and IT/IP work. In February 2002, Alex started work as the Region Counsel for the Middle East legal group of Baker Hughes, a Fortune 500 oilfield services company, where he worked until moving to Dragon Oil.

Alex is a regular presenter at external seminars on commercial contracts within the oil industry and corporate governance/compliance matters, particularly within the context of a listed company.
