The Hamriyah Facility occupies a total surface area of approximately 51,000m2 within the Hamriyah Free Zone with approximately 195 metres of direct quayside access. This facility primarily undertakes jackup rig upgrade and refurbishment projects.
There is a core workforce in the region of 800 tradesmen at this facility and as with both the Sharjah and Jebel Ali facilities workforce is supplemented from the local labour market when required to meet the demands of specific projects.
In response to the current high workloads and to meet the anticipated additional needs of the business going forward, Lamprell has signed a 25 year lease for 250,000m2 of land in the Hamriyah Free Zone. This land, when fully developed, will have 1.25 kilometres of direct quayside access and a low tide water depth of 9 metres.
The current facility will continue to be utilised for a period after the new facility at Hamriyah becomes operational from the first quarter of 2009, to allow for a smooth transition of operations between the two sites.
