Overall purpose of role

Ensure all project-related fabrication, engineering, planning, and construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with Lamprell’s policies and procedures.

Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities

  • Maintain effective and consistent communication with all management personnel, particularly yard supervision and the workforce, on all safety-related matters. Regularly conduct and attend Toolbox Talks (TBTs), Take 5s, Safety Walks, and demonstrate strong leadership during IIRTs, weekly management walkthroughs, HAZID sessions, and Task Risk Assessment (TRA) development and reviews.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all Lamprell HSES policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and certification requirements, and ensure this information is regularly communicated to the team.
  • Actively contribute to strategy development for both bid work and live projects, as required.
  • Ensure the project’s day-to-day operations align with Lamprell Group Management System (LGMS) standards and project priorities by liaising with relevant departments.
  • Consistently promote and uphold Lamprell’s core values—Safety, Fiscal Responsibility, Integrity, Accountability, and Teamwork—through effective team management and behavior modeling.
  • Ensure continuity of information flow from Engineering to Production to support seamless project execution. Regularly engage with the engineering team through formal and informal meetings to address issues early and implement necessary mitigations.
  • Foster a strong culture of schedule adherence by regularly reviewing, monitoring, and managing project timelines through delay analysis, look-ahead planning, and reforecasting.
  • Allocate manpower resources effectively to meet schedule requirements and drive organized, productive performance from both direct and indirect labor. Utilize tools to monitor performance against the budget and promote continuous improvement.
  • Lead the team to deliver first-time-right quality across all disciplines during construction, mechanical completion, and commissioning phases using PIMS.
  • Ensure the team maintains a detailed understanding of scope and a proactive approach to early issue identification, tracking, and resolution.
  • Exercise strong control over the cost of construction consumables and equipment, ensuring efficient and responsible usage.
  • Manage all construction interfaces of awarded subcontracts, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrate initiative in decision-making and the ability to conceptualize technical solutions to address diverse construction challenges.
  • Liaise effectively with key client representatives to ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled.
  • Support operations, including major lifts, marine activities, and the use of both Lamprell and hired equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable HSES policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable information security policies and procedures.

Attainment

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the offshore construction or petrochemical industry.
  • A high standard of general education.
  • Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language.
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities, with excellent collaboration skills across all levels.
  • Demonstrates a conscientious and thorough work ethic, with the ability to listen actively and respond logically and thoughtfully without relying on authority.
  • Comfortable handling detailed and routine tasks with consistency and precision.
