Overall purpose of role
Ensure that all project fabrication, engineering, planning, and construction-related activities are carried out safely, effectively, on time, on budget, and in accordance with project specifications and Lamprell policies and procedures.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Maintain regular attendance and consistently deliver Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and Take 5s.
- Participate in weekly management safety walkthroughs. Engage effectively with all levels of management, especially yard supervision and the workforce, on safety-related matters.
- Provide strong leadership in Incident Investigation and Reporting Tools (IIRTs), HAZID, and Task Risk Assessment (TRA) development and reviews.
- Possess full knowledge, understanding, and endorsement of all Lamprell HSES policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and certification requirements. Ensure this is regularly communicated to the team.
- Contribute to constructability reviews and build sequence planning.
- Ensure daily project operations are in line with LGMS and project priorities. Coordinate with various departments as necessary.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Lamprell’s core values: Safety, Fiscal Responsibility, Integrity, Accountability, and Teamwork. Lead by example and embed these values into team behavior and performance.
- Ensure a smooth information flow between the Senior Construction Manager, Construction Manager, Work Pack Lead, and Production Team to support efficient project execution.
- Engage regularly with the Construction Management Team through formal and informal meetings to address and mitigate issues proactively.
- Promote a culture of schedule adherence through consistent review, monitoring, and execution using delay analysis, look-ahead plans, and reforecasting tools.
- Complete weekly manpower forecasts and submit to the Construction Manager for system upload based on available work fronts.
- Verify Work Pack man-hours and durations before issuing them to the supervisory team.
- Ensure proper allocation of manpower and consistent productivity across all disciplines in accordance with the Work Pack and schedule.
- Encourage the use of best-practice fabrication techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP); address deviations immediately.
- Monitor Work Pack progress and man-hour consumption weekly. Resolve any issues with supervisors as needed.
- Oversee fabrication methods to ensure alignment with Work Pack details and adoption of the most efficient processes.
- Drive first-time-right quality standards across construction phases through to mechanical completion using PIMS.
- Ensure timely submission of RFIs through the LAMQ system.
- Maintain a high level of scope understanding within the team. Identify and track issues early, and implement mitigation measures.
- Control the cost of construction consumables and equipment according to the forecast plan.
- Demonstrate initiative and provide technical solutions for diverse construction challenges.
- Attend daily production meetings with the Construction Manager fully prepared.
- Support operational activities, including major lifts and marine works.
- Ensure prompt closure of punch lists and monitor mechanical completion status via PIMS.
- Comply with all applicable HSES and information security policies and procedures.

- Educational qualification: Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
