Overall purpose of role
Demonstrates a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility while preparing design deliverables in accordance with the approved budget and schedule, ensuring that all outputs meet contractual requirements.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Overall monitoring of discipline-specific deliverables throughout the project, ensuring progress aligns with the schedule.
- Conduct interdisciplinary checks and coordinate activities across various engineering disciplines.
- Assist designers in the preparation and review of plot plans, equipment layouts, piping, and support layouts.
- Perform design calculations and piping stress analysis.
- Prepare design basis documents and project-specific specifications for EPC projects and other assignments involving basic and detailed engineering, feasibility studies, and tender document preparation.
- Manage material engineering tasks, including preparation of purchase specifications, purchase requisitions, technical bid analysis, and evaluation of vendor documents and drawings after order placement.
- Support construction engineering activities such as material take-offs (MTOs), shop drawings, and job package preparation and issuance.
- Conduct site surveys for ongoing jobs and bid proposals.
- Coordinate effectively with internal departments, clients, and inspection agencies.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and procedures.
- Monitor progress and ensure adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents.
- Capture and incorporate all changes or modifications communicated by the project prior to releasing deliverables.
- Attend project review meetings.
- Ensure compliance with HSES policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable information security policies and procedures.
Attainment
- Minimum education: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering; Diploma in Piping Engineering. A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is an advantage.
- Minimum experience: Over 5 years in offshore or onshore oil and gas facilities or drilling rigs, working with major EPC contractors and/or consultants.
- Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, or ABS MODU rules.
- Experience in preparing specifications, performing technical evaluations, and reviewing vendor documentation.
- Proficiency in piping materials and valves.
