Overall purpose of role

This role is responsible for overseeing all post-award activities at Lamprell, combining a functional responsibility (30%) with an operational role (70%), including direct management of at least one project. It involves supervising and coordinating expediting activities across multiple projects to ensure timely delivery in line with project requirements. As the functional lead, the position manages the expediting workforce across all projects, ensuring that activities are efficiently planned, organized, and executed in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role reports functionally to the Supply Chain Director and operationally to the Project Manager when assigned to a project.

Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise Expediting Managers and the entire expediting team across multiple projects.
  • Develop and implement standardized expediting strategies and procedures aligned with company and project objectives.
  • Set priorities and ensure consistent expediting practices across all projects.
  • Standardize tools, templates, and methodologies used for expediting across projects.
  • Review project-level expediting reports and KPIs to monitor performance and identify areas of concern.
  • Maintain close alignment with the Project Procurement Manager to support coordinated execution.
  • Coordinate and resolve critical issues escalated by Project Expediting Managers or Lead Expeditors.
  • Provide timely intervention in high-risk packages and support major vendor management.
  • Liaise with senior leadership, Project Managers, Project Directors, and client representatives to provide updates and resolve expediting-related challenges.
  • Prepare and present consolidated expediting performance reports to top management.
  • Drive transparency and accountability in all expediting processes.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact delivery schedules.
  • Guide project teams on developing and executing risk response strategies and ensure escalation protocols are followed.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans in response to anticipated critical delays.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of expediting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.

Attainment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Over 12 years of experience in expediting, procurement, or supply chain management within the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial or leadership role, overseeing expediting teams or large-scale procurement operations.
  • Strong background in international procurement, vendor management, and project execution.
