Overall purpose of role

Responsible for overseeing the expediting of vendor materials, documentation, and deliverables related to issued Purchase Orders. Reporting to the Project Procurement Manager and assigned to specific projects, the role ensures vendor compliance with purchase order requirements, including on-time delivery, progress reporting, and documentation submission. The Expediting Lead manages the project expediting team, develops and implements expediting strategies, and supports supplier package management. The role also serves as a key interface between suppliers, Lamprell project team members and disciplines, and Lamprell’s customers for post-award supply chain activities.

Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities

  • Manages on-time delivery of Purchase Orders in compliance with applicable Project Technical, Quality, and HSES requirements.
  • Authorized to plan and implement project expediting strategies.
  • Leads and mentors the project expediting team.
  • Conducts project expediting meetings and ensures expediting status reports are accurate, up to date, and meet quality standards.
  • Assigns and supports expediting resources and workloads based on project needs and PPM/Senior PPM requirements.
  • Ensures timely delivery of supplier materials in line with project schedules.
  • Ensures all deliverables are produced, reviewed, and approved by relevant parties according to the Purchase Order schedule to support the next stage of manufacturing.
  • Leads supplier meetings such as Kick-off Meetings and Progress Reviews.
  • Maintains formal and informal communication with suppliers to provide timely, accurate, and forward-looking analysis of their progress in meeting delivery schedules, manufacturing milestones, material shipments, testing, and equipment delivery.
  • Travels to supplier locations and fabrication shops to verify actual progress against the agreed schedule.
  • Assists buyers in securing and validating documentation needed to process invoice payments as per agreed milestones.
  • Escalates potential delays to the PPM/Senior PPM and supplier management for timely resolution.
  • Proactively resolves issues between suppliers and Lamprell stakeholders to ensure project requirements are achieved.
  • Ensures timely progress and approval of supplier deliverables.
  • Understands manufacturing processes for both bulk and tagged items.
  • Ensures compliance with HSES policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with information security policies and procedures.

Attainment

  • Minimum 15 years of expediting experience in Oil & Gas Offshore EPCI projects
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Field Expeditor
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering
