Overall purpose of role

Coordinates procurement activities within procurement operations to meet project requirements while ensuring compliance with established business unit, procurement, and corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities

  • Ensure that procurement operations satisfy project requirements and comply with established business unit, procurement, and corporate policies, instructions, and procedures across functional areas including:
    • Field Purchasing
    • Field Expediting
    • Field Supplier Quality Services
    • Field Traffic & Logistics
    • Field Materials Management, including receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, physical security, and issuance of materials
    • Disposal of surplus materials and equipment
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and monitor personnel actions for procurement staff assigned to the project.
  • Ensure materials are purchased from the most competitive vendors based on quality, delivery, and cost criteria, within budget to optimize the operating unit’s profitability.
  • Ensure materials and supporting documentation are delivered according to the project schedule requirements.
  • Maintain effective internal interfaces with Engineering, Project Management Teams, Operations Group, QA/QC, Accounting, and Proposals, and primarily liaise externally with suppliers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of international standards, codes, and regulations; build rapport with engineering teams to ensure comprehensive knowledge of technical requirements and applications for assigned commodities.
  • Participate in the production of monthly market watch reports.
  • Participate in purchase order close-out activities.
  • Ensure compliance with HSES policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.

  • Familiarity with payment terms and contract provisions.
  • Experience in managing change across diverse interests and cultures.

  • Expertise in tendering and post-tendering processes, negotiations, outsourcing, partnering, and Purchase to Pay (P2P) workflows.
  • Control and reporting of cost savings initiatives.
  • Knowledge of costing methodologies.
  • Service level delivery and performance management.
  • Awareness of local customs, practices, and behaviors.
