Overall purpose of role
Purchase parts, materials, and equipment for the company using requisitions, purchase orders, competitive bidding, quotations, and negotiations, following established criteria and company procedures. Manage record storage and the district’s retention program.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Define and execute sourcing and selection strategies for assigned categories
- Coordinate with the team leader to plan and prioritize purchasing activities
- Review requisitions from end users, create RFQs, issue purchase orders, and manage the approval process
- Send approved purchase orders and supporting documents to suppliers, prioritizing as needed
- Track order acknowledgements, handle OS&D (over, short, and damaged) issues, monitor open PO reports, and inform internal teams of potential delays
- Review, update, and maintain purchase orders until closure
- Ensure orders comply with supplier agreements and contracts; report any nonconformances
- Lead finance and logistics teams to resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies
- Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency improvements
- Support efforts to consolidate, reduce, and rationalize the local supplier base
Attainment
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas EPCI projects, mainly in procurement of Mechanical, Equipment, and Packages
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in any discipline
