Overall purpose of role
Provide key support to the Project Manager in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day execution of major projects, or serve as the project in-charge for minor projects.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Ensure all project activities are executed safely.
- Prepare the document distribution matrix and ensure stakeholders acknowledge and fulfill their respective responsibilities in line with project requirements.
- Coordinate, prepare, implement, and manage project-related engineering method statements and execution plans, including materials requisitions.
- Assist in the preparation, submission, monitoring, and control of additional work requests and change orders.
- Prepare, submit, monitor, and manage project technical queries.
- Coordinate technical matters related to engineering design between the customer and the project team.
- Identify potential cost and schedule opportunities or risks, and communicate them to the Project Manager.
- Maintain awareness of the risk management system, including the risk register and assigned responsibilities.
- Monitor material usage to promptly identify and address potential shortages.
- Oversee work execution and provide relevant input to the planning department.
- Track scheduled activities to ensure timely completion, including coordination with external subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
- Investigate labor and productivity variances, and report findings to the Project Manager.
- Collaborate with the subcontracting department to ensure project budgets and schedules are maintained.
- Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of services with Lamprell’s production activities.
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security requirements.
- Act as the Project Manager in their absence.
- Ensure all project activities are executed in accordance with the Lamprell Group Management System.
Attainment
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the offshore oil and gas construction industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Technical engineering qualification, Diploma or equivalent; Master’s degree and PMP certification are advantageous.
- Strong leadership, motivation, and teamwork abilities.
- Proactive and responsive, with the ability to listen to others and provide logical, well-considered responses without relying on authority.
