Overall purpose of role
Coordinates procurement activities within projects to ensure operations meet project requirements and comply with business unit, procurement, and corporate policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Ensure procurement operations meet project requirements and comply with business unit, procurement, and corporate policies, instructions, and procedures in the following areas:
- Field Purchasing
- Field Expediting
- Field Supplier Quality Services
- Field Traffic and Logistics
- Field Materials Management, including receipt, inspection, storage, inventory control, physical security, and issuance of materials
- Disposal of surplus materials and equipment
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and monitor personnel actions for procurement staff assigned to the project
- Ensure materials are purchased from the most competitive vendors based on quality, delivery, and cost, staying within budget to optimize operating unit profitability
- Ensure materials and supporting documents are delivered according to the project schedule
- Coordinate internally with Engineering, Project Management Teams, Operations, QA/QC, Accounting, and Proposals; externally with suppliers
- Develop a good understanding of international standards, codes, and regulations
- Build strong relationships with engineering teams to fully understand technical requirements and applications of assigned commodities
- Visit vendors regularly to stay updated on their capabilities, new products, and maintain good management relations
- Participate in preparing monthly market watch reports
- Support purchase order closeout activities
- Ensure compliance with HSES policies and procedures
- Ensure adherence to all applicable information security policies and procedures
Attainment
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas Offshore EPCI projects
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in any discipline
