Overall purpose of role
Distribute, monitor, and check the development of process design and construction drawings such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and process data sheets, while coordinating with the System Administrator. Ensure all design deliverables meet customer technical specifications, comply with company standards, and fulfill the requirements of the production and user departments. Work across multiple projects, delivering high-quality outputs within the required timelines.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Independently develop designs such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and schematics with overall guidance from the Senior or Lead Engineer.
- Coordinate with the Piping team and System Administrator for specifications and catalogues required for intelligent P&IDs. Assist the Job Engineer with activity planning and scheduling.
- Distribute, monitor, and check the work of a team of 4–5 designers, ensuring completeness, compliance with legends and symbols, and conducting inter-disciplinary checks.
- Prepare line lists and equipment lists from P&IDs, and develop and maintain the drawing list.
- Review and comment on vendor drawings and perform site surveys as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with applicable HSES policies, plans, and procedures, as well as information security policies and procedures.
Attainment
- Minimum education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum experience: Over 10 years in the offshore, onshore, or drilling rigs design and construction industry.
- Hands-on experience with Aveva Diagrams, SPPID, or equivalent software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact across multiple disciplines.
- Well-versed in piping, electrical, and instrumentation materials and components.
