Overall purpose of role
Ensure that all planning-related activities are executed in full compliance with company policies and procedures.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Coordinate the development of planning schedules for both proposal and execution phases.
- Continuously review schedule content to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Analyze schedule progress, identify areas of concern, and initiate timely corrective actions.
- Manage project schedule changes in accordance with approved procedures.
- Produce timely and accurate schedule performance metrics.
- Oversee schedule capacity and resource requirement planning.
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships to support schedule deliverables.
- Provide guidance and training to Planning Engineers on best practices.
- Ensure quality control within the scope of planning responsibilities.
- Act as deputy for the Planning Manager in their absence.
- Perform planning-related administrative tasks as required.
- Attend and facilitate project and planning meetings.
Attainment
- 5–10 years of planning experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Strong understanding of MRP and ERP systems.
- Good knowledge of oil and gas construction techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Proficient in planning software such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Project (MSP).
- Confident and capable of managing and coaching others.
- Proven effectiveness as a team leader.
