Overall purpose of role

Ensure that product quality is maintained in accordance with applicable requirements by monitoring and performing quality control functions. Additionally, ensure that project activities are conducted in compliance with specifications and relevant standards.

Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities

  • Liaise with and advise the production team on matters related to project quality and error prevention. Implement ACPs and ITPs for assigned projects.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, codes, standards, and specifications to determine acceptance or rejection criteria.
  • Analyze project production activities concerning quality and defects, reporting findings to the QC Engineer.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with clients and third-party inspectors (TPI).
  • Manage and control inspectors and inspection services, including subcontracted services, across all disciplines within assigned projects.
  • Assist the QAQC Coordinator/Engineer in identifying procedural changes needed to comply with applicable codes and standards.
  • Ensure effective use of quality control software.
  • Assist in the timely raising and resolution of NCRs, CARs, and PARs when identified.
  • Ensure final acceptance of quality-related documentation.
  • Provide guidance and support to technicians and document controllers.
  • Prepare and compile quality control documents related to the assigned discipline.
  • Maintain key relationships with QAQC managers, heads of departments, and project and production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with HSES policies, plans, and procedures as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures as applicable.

Attainment

  • Confident written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Excellent listening skills and assertiveness.
  • Physically fit and able to work in extreme climatic conditions.
  • Minimum 2 to 6 years of experience in a similar field, or as per HR grading structure, with a technical engineering qualification.
  • Valid professional certification such as CSWIP, AWS, BGAS, NACE, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of QA and QC practices within engineering industries.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods, including RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT, or related disciplines.
  • Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Knowledge of API Q1, 4F, and 16C standards, especially if working for LRS.
  • Ability to sense the mood of customers or suppliers and respond appropriately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in documentation, computer operation, procedures, and systems.
  • Able to relate well at all organizational levels; conscientious and thorough.
  • Demonstrates the ability to listen to others’ views and respond logically and thoughtfully without relying on authority.
  • Comfortable handling detailed, routine work.
