Overall purpose of role
Ensure product quality is maintained in compliance with applicable requirements by monitoring and executing quality control functions. Oversee project activities to ensure they are carried out in accordance with specifications and relevant standards.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Liaise with and advise the production team on project quality matters and error prevention strategies.
- Implement Approved Construction Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for assigned projects.
- Interpret engineering drawings, codes, standards, and specifications to determine acceptance or rejection criteria.
- Analyze production activities with respect to quality and defects, and report findings to the QC Engineer.
- Coordinate inspection activities and liaise with clients and Third-Party Inspectors as required.
- Manage and oversee inspectors and inspection services, including subcontractors, for all discipline-related inspections within assigned projects.
- Assist the QA/QC Coordinator or Engineer in identifying and implementing procedural changes to comply with applicable codes and standards.
- Ensure effective utilization of software and digital tools relevant to quality control functions.
- Assist in the timely identification, raising, and resolution of Non-Conformance Reports, Corrective Action Requests, and Preventive Action Requests.
- Ensure the final acceptance and completeness of all quality-related documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians and document controllers.
- Prepare and compile quality control documents specific to the assigned discipline.
- Maintain strong working relationships with QA/QC Managers, Heads of Departments, and members of the QA/QC, Project, and Production teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and security policies, plans, and procedures.
- Adhere to all applicable information security policies and procedures.
Attainment
- Minimum education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum experience: Over 10 years in offshore, onshore, or drilling rig design and construction industries.
- Hands-on experience with PDMS / Aveva, SP3D, or equivalent 3D modeling software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Well-versed in piping materials and dimensional standards.
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001 standards.
- Good knowledge of API Q1, API 4F, and API 16C standards (required when working for LRS projects).
