Overall purpose of role
The Senior Transportation and Installation (T&I) Manager is responsible for the execution of the T&I scope of projects and serves as the primary point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders involved in T&I activities. This role facilitates the coordination of all parties to ensure the T&I scope is executed in a controlled and well-planned manner. The Senior T&I Manager monitors all T&I activities, maintaining continuous interface with the project team to ensure a thorough understanding of each aspect of the T&I operations. They provide direction for offshore execution to ensure all T&I activities comply with client requirements and meet HSES, quality, cost, and schedule objectives. Additionally, the role includes contributing T&I input during the tendering phase and supporting the development of in-house T&I capabilities.
Primary responsibilities, authorities & accountabilities
- Collaborate with Project Management teams to ensure all aspects of the T&I scope are executed safely, complying with HSES, Quality, and Schedule requirements.
- Work alongside HSES and Operations teams to conduct necessary T&I scope HAZID and Constructability reviews.
- Manage T&I scope planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk minimization, monitoring, and progress reporting for assigned projects.
- Ensure all T&I activities are thoroughly planned, and that plans and responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood by all relevant parties.
- Coordinate with the Procurement and Supply Chain groups to source and charter all marine spreads in accordance with project contract requirements.
- Prepare and monitor T&I and resource schedules to ensure timely mobilization of key offshore personnel and subcontractors.
- Organize and lead kick-off meetings with clients and project teams for mobilizing key T&I spreads.
- Monitor work compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client standards; ensure effective utilization of subcontractor technical personnel in collaboration with project specialists and engineers.
- Provide T&I input for tender activities, including execution plans and strategy development.
- Support the development of in-house T&I capabilities through chartering, purchasing, or partnering with installation vessel owners.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop into competent T&I engineers capable of leading projects.
- Maintain key relationships with line managers, clients, functional managers, and the project team.
- Possess a minimum of 20 years’ experience in offshore oil and gas T&I projects.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSES policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant information security policies and procedures.
Attainment
- Minimum of 20 years’ experience in Transportation and Installation (T&I) work within offshore oil and gas projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Mechanical; a Master’s degree in any engineering discipline is considered an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, API Q1, 4F, and 16C standards.
- Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proficient in assessing contractual needs and requirements.
- Effective communicator with the ability to manage stakeholder interests.
