Across Lamprell’s UAE facilities, 2026 has opened with a strong focus on safe execution, delivery discipline and continuity across multiple work fronts. While the regional environment has remained challenging, operations have continued with close coordination across yards, project teams and support functions.
As Lamprell COO Edoardo Martinelli explains, “2026 is the year in which Lamprell is seeing the full impact of the turnaround work that began in 2023. Hamriyah remains central to major fabrication programmes, while Jebel Ali has returned to production and is once again supporting wider execution activity.”
From February onwards, resilience became a defining theme. Downtime across the fabrication facilities was limited, and teams moved quickly to adapt yard arrangements, manage supply chain disruption and maintain material flow through alternative routes, helping keep delivery broadly on track.
Delivering with greater scale and maturity

In oil & gas, offshore EPCI activity remains a major part of the operational picture. Lamprell’s track record in jackets and production deck modules continues to support the current phase of work in the yards, while the company’s engineering, procurement and fabrication functions are operating at a more mature level than in previous years.
Under current LTA project agreements with Aramco, procurement is now largely complete with more than 90 per cent of purchase orders placed and long-lead items secured. The focus has shifted to expediting and bringing material into the yards, while fabrication continues across both Lamprell’s Hamriyah and Jebel Ali facilities.
Lamprell has also strengthened its offshore execution structure, improving readiness to support transportation and installation activity. Together with sister company Algihaz Marine Contractors (AMC), the Group offers integrated offshore engineering, procurement, transportation and installation (EPCI) capabilities.

Continued progress is being made on the new build rig programme, with Kingdom 3 on schedule and the next milestone focused on the shipment of sub-components to IMI. Additionally, our rig refurbishment business continues to perform well, with projects progressing safely and successfully. A particular highlight was the Rowan Mississippi project, which recently surpassed 800,000 man-hours without a lost-time incident. The team marked the milestone with a well-deserved celebration, reflecting the strong safety culture that also contributed to Lamprell closing 2025 with a TRIR of zero.
Advancing serial production in offshore wind
In renewables, the RWE Vanguard East and West projects remain a major focus. Lamprell secured the award for 184 transition pieces in 2024, following completion of the Moray West transition piece programme, and has continued to build out its world-class serial production capabilities to support large-scale repeatable manufacturing.
Production is progressing in line with expectations and client satisfaction remains strong. Risk around finished-product shipping through the region and delivery is being closely monitored.
The wider picture is equally important. With positive feedback from clients during recent meetings in Manchester, and recognition of Lamprell’s capability and available capacity, Lamprell continues to position renewables as a meaningful part of its long-term growth strategy.
Lamprell is also expanding its renewables offering and further strengthening its engineering capability across offshore wind. The team successfully completed a pre-FEED scope for an offshore renewable jacket recently, demonstrating its growing technical expertise and supporting earlier engagement with clients during project development. The business is also pursuing several FEED and EPCI opportunities for large offshore substations and jackets, reflecting continued momentum in this market.

Enhancing delivery through smarter systems and technology
Technology and capability development continue to shape operational performance across the business. Inside the yards, Lamprell is pursuing technologies that improve productivity, efficiency and control. These include automation and new production applications, with robotic painting and blasting already in use on our serial production line.
We are also focusing on digitalisation and improved data management across our operations. As projects become more complex, Lamprell is handling a growing volume of information across suppliers, fabrication, assembly and final client delivery. The business is working towards a more seamless digital flow of information, where physical assets are increasingly supported by a connected digital history through tools such as digital twins and structured data systems.
With a focus on building long-term capability, Lamprell continues to invest in the ongoing growth of its Chennai project support team in India. The Saudi Arabia team have recently moved into larger offices in Al Khobar, as the business continues to build local talent and capability, and Lamprell has established a new office in Iraq to support the company’s expanding regional presence. In addition, Lamprell is developing local talent through the KSA Energy Academy.
Looking ahead while delivering across multiple fronts
As Lamprell builds on more than 50 years of experience, the next phase presents an important opportunity to strengthen its position across the Middle East oil & gas and European renewables markets.
Looking ahead, the priorities for the next quarter are clear: maintain the current rhythm of delivery, keep projects moving safely across all active fronts and demonstrate to clients that Lamprell can meet, and where possible exceed, expectations.
“We want to demonstrate more and more that we can be a main character in the game of oil & gas projects in the Gulf,” says Edoardo, “while also continuing to show European clients that Lamprell can be a partner of choice in offshore wind because of its know-how, capacity and strategic location.”
In a year that continues to demand focus and adaptability, Lamprell’s operational message is straightforward: the teams are delivering, the yards are active, and the business continues to move forward across multiple fronts.
