Lamprell’s oil & gas division continues to build and deliver EPCI projects

Lamprell’s oil and gas division has been making significant strides throughout 2023 and into 2024, primarily focusing on delivering a series of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) projects. The projects encompass diverse structures and activities, including production decks, offshore jackets, platform upgrades, and, in some cases, laying associated pipelines and subsea cables.

A brief description of these products

Production decks are structures located on offshore platforms that house equipment for processing oil and gas before it’s transported to the shore. The equipment typically includes separators, compressors, and pumps.

Offshore jackets are the steel frameworks that serve as the foundation for offshore platforms. They are anchored to the seabed and provide the necessary support for the platform above, including the production decks.

Platforms are large structures placed on the offshore jackets. They are used for various purposes, such as drilling wells, extracting oil and gas, housing workers, and supporting processing equipment.

Pipelines laid on the seabed are used to transport oil and gas from the offshore platforms to onshore facilities or to other platforms. They are crucial for the efficient and safe transfer of extracted resources.

Subsea cables are used primarily for power transmission and communication between the offshore platforms and the mainland. They ensure the continuous operation of equipment, safety systems, and provide a communication link.

Our EPCI project progress

The projects Lamprell is delivering are being fabricated for utilization in the Middle East, underscoring Lamprell’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure in the region. A total of six projects have been either completed or are in progress at Lamprell’s Hamriyah facility, with deliveries occurring steadily.

Among these projects, two have been fully delivered. The first encompassed two production decks, along with the installation of 2.8 kilometres of subsea pipeline and 3.1 kilometres of subsea power cables. The second project involved the delivery of three drilling jackets and two well observation platforms, including both the jackets and decks.

In August 2023, Lamprell proudly announced the award of a notable project entailing the fabrication, painting, and load-out of five offshore jackets and boat landings, with an optional scope covering the supply and fabrication of grillage and sea-fastening. The construction of all five jackets is in full swing.

The last quarter of 2023 marked the awarding of two additional EPCI projects to Lamprell. The first includes two offshore jackets, two production deck modules, and associated pipeline and subsea cables. The second project involves four offshore jackets, one production deck module, and related pipeline and subsea cables, with an additional jacket recently added to the scope. These units are advancing well, with deliveries anticipated throughout this year and into 2025.

Lastly, another major project is currently in its initial stage and will focus on fabricating production decks and jackets alongside various upgrade works. This project is in the early engineering phase, with construction activities yet to commence.

Lamprell’s ongoing success in these EPCI projects demonstrates our technical ability and commitment to quality and reinforces our position as an oil and gas industry leader. As we forge ahead, Lamprell remains dedicated to delivering excellence and fostering innovation in every project we undertake.
