Rig refurbishment team enjoys record year
Lamprell continues to deliver offshore drilling rig refurbishment projects at its Hamriyah quayside. So far, in 2023, the team has delivered six rigs to two clients. Five delivered projects were large-sized, requiring upgrades to their rig systems and equipment, and these projects typically take between three and five months to complete. The remaining project was medium-sized requiring a periodical survey to renew the main classification certificates, which is a requirement all drilling rigs must undergo every five years. In addition, the team is currently completing major refurbishment work on four further projects for four clients, in which two projects are expected to be delivered later this year and the other two in 2024.
