Dear Readers,
If you follow us on social media or subscribe to Lamprell’s news, you’re likely aware of our recent contract awards from RWE, a leader in renewable energy. These are significant awards for our company and will keep our serial production line, the only such facility in the Middle East, occupied for at least two years. A number of key people were involved in bringing these awards across the line and a significant amount of time and effort was spent. Unlike our major EPCI Oil & Gas projects, which typically take months from the bid stage to award, renewables projects, specifically in offshore wind, can take several years to contract award. I want to give special thanks to Stephen Smith and Brian Robertson from our BD team, who have been working on securing these projects for over five years. Lamprell is committed to supporting the global transition towards renewable energy. You can discover more about this award and how we are scaling our operations to meet increasing demands further on in this newsletter.
Over the past few months, I have travelled extensively, engaging with current, past, and potential customers. The feedback from the renewables sector has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly following our recent successful delivery of 62 transition pieces for Moray West.
Lamprell’s reputation in the offshore wind sector is strengthening, affirming our role as a key player and we are committed to expanding this vital business unit. Achieving net zero is not just a goal for us—it’s an integral part of our strategy.
In our Oil & Gas division, we remain busy. We are currently managing five major EPCI projects, which include 13 jackets and five production decks. Details of their progress are featured in a related article in this newsletter.
In Q3, we conducted an offsite workshop with 20 key management team members to review our strategy. It was reassuring to find our goals largely aligned with last year’s objectives, though some adjustments are necessary, especially in our onshore oil & gas division. After presenting our revised plans to the Board, which received their approval, we have bolstered our resources and are working towards partnerships to support growth, particularly in the area of modularisation.
Additionally, as part of our strategic adjustments, we have made changes to our management team, which are detailed in the ‘In Brief’ section. We are also taking steps to establish an engineering office in Chennai, India, further details of which I will share in the next edition of Lamprelltimes.
Please enjoy this edition of our newsletter, and I look forward to your feedback at communications@lamprell.com.
