Dear Readers,
Welcome to the latest edition of Lamprelltimes.
This quarter has again demonstrated the value of preparation, capable teams and disciplined execution. The geopolitical situation continues to create uncertainty around shipping routes and supply chains, but our teams have kept projects moving by adapting plans, working closely with clients and partners, and maintaining their focus on safety, quality and delivery. Our operational update in this edition looks at how our ability to adapt is supporting progress across our business.
We have also secured a major offshore EPCI contract in the UAE in consortium with Larsen & Toubro, with Lamprell delivering the subsea pipeline scope. In Saudi Arabia, our recently signed offshore fabrication agreement with IMI will see offshore structures fabricated at its Ras Al-Khair facility, supporting the development of local capability and increasing in-Kingdom content. These are important steps in strengthening our regional partnerships and project delivery capability.
Safety remains the first measure of our performance and, in our recently published 2025 Sustainability Report, Lamprell announced a TRIR of 0.00 across approximately 11.5 million man-hours, with no recordable incidents during the year. That was an exceptional achievement and it remains the standard we strive to sustain. This quarter, Vanguard West reached almost four million man-hours without a lost-time incident, while our rig refurbishment team passed 1.1 million man-hours without a recordable incident. These milestones reflect thousands of individual decisions made every day to plan work properly, speak up and look out for one another.
We also look more closely at the UAE and the role Lamprell can play in the country’s next phase of energy and industrial growth. Lamprell has operated here for 50 years and our feature, Made in the UAE, for the UAE, explores how Lamprell’s local capability, proximity to clients, established domestic supply chain and strategic international sourcing can strengthen resilience, reduce execution risk and create greater value in-country.
Our rigs business provides another good example of capability built over time. From repair and refurbishment to new build, inspection, maintenance and specialist engineering, Lamprell has accumulated deep technical knowledge across the full rig lifecycle. This quarter’s rigs feature looks at how the market is evolving, the work progressing today and how experience from decades of projects continues to support our clients and develop in-country skills that will enable the next generation of talent.
Another important publication this quarter is our 2025 Sustainability Report, Foundations for a responsible future. Alongside our safety performance, it records a 57% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions against our 2021 baseline and 98% of waste diverted from landfill. The report demonstrates the importance of continuing to strengthen the systems, standards and behaviours behind our performance as the business grows.
As we continue celebrating Lamprell’s 50th anniversary, this edition also brings our history and our people together. We continue our 50-year look-back and speak with Group Proposals Director Simon MacDonald, who has spent more than 25 years with Lamprell, about the projects, people and changes he has experienced during his career.
I was also pleased to spend time with colleagues in Chennai this quarter, joining our in-person Town Hall and Independence Day celebrations. The visit was a good opportunity to meet more of the team and see first-hand the energy and talent within our growing India operation. I also visited the Little Flower Convent, which supports children with visual, hearing and speech disabilities. The resilience and joy of the children, and the dedication of the Sisters who care for them, made it a particularly humbling and memorable visit.
Our wellbeing feature looks at another important part of our culture: how we support our people through health, safety, development and practical wellbeing initiatives both at work and beyond.
There is a great deal happening across Lamprell, but the common thread is straightforward: safe delivery, strong relationships, capable people and continued investment in our future. As we move through the final quarter of our 50th year, those fundamentals remain as important as ever.
Thank you to everyone across Lamprell, and to our clients and partners, for your continued commitment and support. I hope you enjoy this edition of Lamprelltimes.
